Discover the Finest Wines of Campania

Since ancient times, Campania has been renowned for its high-quality wines such as Falerno, Greek, Faustiniano, and Caleno—dubbed the "Wines of the Emperors." These wines were praised by some of the greatest classical writers, including Cicero, Pliny, Martial, and Tibullus. Campania’s rich winemaking tradition continues today, with the region holding the distinction of producing some of Italy’s finest wines.

Campania is Italy's third-largest wine-producing region, following Piemonte and Tuscany. It currently boasts 21 DOC wines, including three prestigious DOCG wines: Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, and Taurasi. These exceptional wines have found their ideal home in the diverse landscape of the Irpinia region, a land filled with lush vineyards and centuries-old winemaking traditions.

The region’s unique geographical features, divided by the Apennine ridge into the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic sides, provide ideal conditions for cultivating grape varieties like Aglianico, Fiano, and Greco di Tufo—the foundations of the three DOCG wines. Among them, Taurasi stands out as the king of red wines in southern Italy, while Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo are celebrated for their distinct and aromatic white wine profiles.

On our wine tours, we visit some of the region’s finest wineries, such as Mastrobernardino, Feudi di San Gregorio, and Caggiano, known for their exceptional wine production. These wineries represent the pinnacle of southern Italy's DOCG wines, each offering a unique experience for wine lovers.

The Aglianico vineyards are primarily located in the hills along the River Heat, while the Fiano and Greco di Tufo grapes are grown on the slopes near the River Sabato, where the soil, climate, and terrain contribute to their distinctive flavors.

Our tours generally include a visit to the local wineries, where you can enjoy wine tastings and a delicious lunch. You’ll have the chance to taste the region’s finest wines, learn about the winemaking process, and explore the scenic vineyards nestled beneath the towering Mount Vesuvius.

Additionally, we can combine these experiences with visits to famous sites such as Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Mount Vesuvius, offering a perfect blend of culture, history, and wine. Alternatively, we also offer wine tours in the Avellino and Benevento areas, where you can discover more exceptional local wines.
