Tour Itinerary
1. Mount Vesuvius
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Mount Vesuvius, the infamous volcano that shaped the history of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
By Car or Mini Van: Travel comfortably up to approximately 1,000 meters.
Hiking to the Crater: Enjoy 2 hours of free time to hike to the summit and explore the volcanic crater. From here, you’ll experience breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples and the surrounding region.
Tickets: We recommend purchasing tickets online in advance for a smooth experience. Alternatively, tickets can also be purchased at the entrance (subject to availability).
2. Pompeii
After descending from Mount Vesuvius, we proceed to the legendary ruins of Pompeii, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world.
Highlights:
Walk through the ancient streets, marvel at well-preserved villas, temples, theaters, and the forum, all frozen in time since the eruption of 79 AD.
Free Time: Enjoy ample time to explore at your own pace.
Optional Guide: We can arrange for an expert archaeological guide to enrich your visit with fascinating insights.
3. Herculaneum (Optional)
For those choosing the Herculaneum option, your tour will include a visit to this smaller yet equally impressive site.
Why Visit Herculaneum: Known for its exceptional preservation, this ancient town offers a more intimate glimpse into Roman life, with detailed mosaics, wooden structures, and even food remains preserved by the volcanic ash.
4. Lunch and Wine Tasting (Optional for Pompeii + Vesuvius Tour)
If you select the Pompeii + Mount Vesuvius with Lunch option, we’ll take you to a traditional vineyard near Vesuvius.
Wine Tasting: Sample local wines made from grapes grown in the rich volcanic soil.
Lunch: Savor a delicious, authentic Italian meal featuring local specialties in a serene setting.
Return
After a memorable day, we’ll bring you back to your hotel, apartment, or port in the afternoon.
